Things to know:
No matter where you are birthing, hospital or home, be sure to let your care provider know that you would like to encapsulate your placenta so they know not to discard of it after you give birth. Each facility has a certain protocol (such as filling out a Release Form) Be sure to have your coach, spouse or family member remind your nurse and care provider at the time of birth just in case. It is a also a good idea to have it written into your birth plan.

Be sure to bring a labeled container and double ziplock bag to store your placenta. Have the nurse place the placenta into the container and store in the fridge or on ice until you can deliver it to me or I can pick it up. The placenta is good in the refridgerator for up to 3 days after you give birth so delivery or pick up will need to occur before the 3rd day.
Your spouse or a family member should notify me when you go into labor so I am ready, and again when once the baby is born to arrange pick up or delivery arrangements.
The placenta needs to remain on ice at all times during transportation. It is easiest to have a cooler on hand. After the placenta is in my possession the steaming, dehydration and encapsulation process usually takes 2-4 days to be completed. Most women are able to get 80-200 capsules worth. Storage and dosage info will be given to you alongside the placenta capsules.
Encapsulation Process will be discussed at the time of our Consult*
*I only process ONE placenta at a time*
I am available any time for any questions!
Fees:
Standard encapsulation: $210
Half of fee is due upon hire, with balance due at pick up of placenta. Acceptable payment forms are paypal, debit/credit, or cash.
*For moms pregnant with twins/2 placentas: the fee is $230 to cover the use of double supplies and materials.
Please let me know if you would like your placentas processed separately. There is no evidence at this time to suggest that one processing method is better over the other for twin placentas. It is solely up to the mother whether she wants the placentas processed together or separate.*
